I don't wear the taichis all the time either, Ray. So I can't opine on their suitability for daily usage.

But having worn office shoes and walking in them for most of the day, I can say tht my feet never fail to appreciate the comfort and lightness of the taichis if I were to wear them even later in the night when going for teh tarik with friends. Definitely better than japanese slippers.

The soles - yup, they're thin but I've no issues with them so far. My daughter has been wearing her taichis longer and she hasn't complained either (yet?). I think she even wears them for, and not just to, her taekwondo lessons. Don't know if tht's allowed, but her white taichis are fast becoming onitsuka tiger taichi belacan.

Anyway, if I can find a pair of black ones with red stripes, I'll not hesitate to buy them also.

Yeah. You have a point. But tell me, are those tai chis really suitable for daily usage, you know walking and stuff? I've read reviews about it saying that the soles are too thin for comfortable long term wear and stuff. As far as I know, even the national wushu athletes (my coach and all) only use these shoes for competitions. They don't wear them all the time.

Thanks, Ray :)

Actually I bought a pair of white/green taichis for my 13-year-old daughter (and two other onitsuka tigers) in KL; and am aware that GigaSport imports the Onitsukas into Malaysia.

However, I was informed (reliably or not I don't know) that the specific black/yellow taichis tht I was lusting after aren't available in Malaysia at tht point in time. So ordering online was one option, which I took. The other would be hunting down the specific sneakers at star three sixty @ Sunway Pyramid or Marc Ecko @ Bandar Utama or SOLE WHAT @ The Garden or other shops, which option seemed tedious and would probably cost me as much as the UPS charges if the petrol, stress and anxiety factors are taken into account.

Not to mention the severe disappointment if I were to discover, after or during the hunt, that the black/yellow taichis are available but the shops are out of stock for my size.

So tht's what made me go for the sure thing :)

Actually, you really didn't have to get it all they way from California, dude. The Onitsuka Tiger Star Three-sixty store in Sunway Pyramid actually carries these shoes.

Great shoes. They're weightless. The yellow/black onitsuka taichis I wore in Kill Bill 1 made me feel like Bruce Lee. So I went to a japanese club in matching yellow outfit and had sword fights with a bunch of yakuzas.

Note to potential buyers: almost non-existent arch support; soles are quite thin, so don't go out wearing them in the rain or after.
