My New Asics Whizzer Lo Shoes

I was strolling aimlessly in Bukit Bintang Plaza last week when a pair of retro looking black/white Asics shoes caught my eyes. So, I went into the shop and shelled out RM250 for them.

Lo and behold! I present thee …

Asics Whizzer Lo

the Asics Whizzer Lo; a low cut wrestling shoes for referees and coaches. Wrestlers use the boot cut ones. Wow … I am so freakin pleased.

I’m not a wrestling fan or referee or coach. But this pair of Asics I like very much.

The shoes’ uppers are made of some canvas like material (no, I don’t know what it is). So there’s no problem with weight here; they’re light. The outsoles are non-slip rubber, each with 3 small white suction like cups which, I guess, are meant to improve the shoes’ grip. It seems that the outsoles are also sewn to the uppers. WTF … does this mean I have to stay clear of wet surfaces?

The Asics Whizzer Lo’s shape is a bit narrow for my feet at first. Much like my Puma driving shoes. I think their shape has adjusted to my feet now since I’ve been wearing them regularly for the past week. Feels snug now. Or maybe my feet’s shape has adjusted to the shoes?! Unlikely, huh.

The shoes were made in Vietnam as was the box they came in. And both, box and shoes, are PVC free according to the statements printed on the box.

And now I’m lusting for a pair of Onitsuka Tiger Taichi Black/Yellow … sigh!

P.S: OK, I can throw the box away now cuz the photos have been taken :)

  1. I really like those pics of your asics whizzer lo you posted. They look more strongly stitched than some of the other ones which would be great for sports. Unfortunately I can’t walk down the street and find them here. Any chance you could post some on ebay?
